JD Hooge founded Gridplane to help clients bring their stories to life. Gridplane specializes in unifying practical user interaction with engaging design to craft unique experiences. Over the past 10 years, JD has assembled a diverse portfolio of creative work for cultural institutions and companies large and small. Past clients include XBOX, Google, Sony, MTV, Helio, Nike, Starbucks, and Pulitzer Foundation for the Arts. Prior to launching Gridplane, JD worked at Second Story Interactive Studios, an award-winning firm in Portland, Oregon. At Second Story, he took the design lead on projects for AIGA, National Geographic Online, Nintendo of America, National Gallery of Art, National Museum of American History, Library of Congress and the National Archives among others. JD Hooge's work has been recognized by the One Show, Communication Arts, I.D., HOW, Print Magazine, as well as other publications and books. A graduate of the Milwaukee Institute of Art & Design, JD was named one of Print Magazine's "30 Under 30" New Visual Artists in 2005.

I just stumbled upon the One Show Interactive Vol VIII book at the book store. It has a nice spread about the AIGA Design Archives site. On top of that, I was happy to see that it was also a 'Judges Choice' by Judge Toke Nygaard, of Cuban Council.
